Place each leaf in a pot with sand and peat moss (they need porous, nutrient-rich soil) and bury only about a third of the leaf. Keep the soil moist but not soggy and place the pot on a sunny windowsill. The cuttings should receive bright light for at least six hours.
The cuttings should root between one month and six weeks after being taken from the parent plant.
Once the cuttings have rooted, care for the new plants following the tips below.
Aloe Vera: If you do this, you’ll get a healthy and strong plant.
Water regularly and allow the soil to dry out. Then, place the pot where the parent plant has already grown well or in a location that receives at least six hours of bright, indirect light each day.
Aloe needs to be watered every few days whenever the soil feels dry to a depth of 1 inch. After a month, the roots will have stabilized enough to transplant them into a pot 15 or 20 centimeters larger. At this point, you can water the plants much less frequently, but only when the top two centimeters of soil are completely dry.
